Pendulum Rides, Splash Pools & More: 5 Reasons You Need To Revisit This Amusement Park

The information in this post might be outdated

As kids, malls and movies weren’t half as exciting as amusement parks (for us, at least) and we couldn’t wait for school picnics to Adventure Island (or any park for that matter). Now that we’re all grown up, we don’t need school buses and teachers to take us there; but really, when was the last time you visited an amusement park?

We’re giving you five reasons why you need to make that trip to Rohini and revisit Adventure Island – the park of every child’s dream back then. Preferably, go with your school gang? There’s nothing like a mini high-school reunion over cotton candy and exciting rides.

For Rides Like Free Fall, Twister & More

Who doesn’t remember those free-fall drops with a bungy effect (Z-force) and screaming throughout those 360 degree rotations (Flip Out)? These rides are super-exciting and can get your adrenaline pumping like nothing else. However, the Twister that left us suspended mid-air between circular motions will always have our vote. If you’re a water baby, head straight to the splash pools and the water coaster. The fun, pendulum ride, bumper cars and the Sky Rider (the rotating hanging seats) are some other notable attractions here.

Popcorn & Cotton Candy Between Ride-Hopping? Yes, Please!

In between hopping from one ride to another, you can always nibble on some popcorn and cotton candy because hey, now that you’re here, you might as well do it like old times. Once you’re done with your quota of adrenaline, sit down for a filling meal in their food court. They’ve got Indian thali meals and Mughlai, Chinese and your regular pastas and pizzas too.

You Can Always Eat & Shop At The Metro Walk Mall, Too

The Metro Walk Mall right at the entrance of Adventure Island has more food places like Pind Balluchi, Berco’s, McDonald’s and Domino’s. If we were you, we’d head straight to McDonald’s  for McChicken, Chicken McNuggets and fountain Coke. There’s nothing better than a comforting carb-loaded meal after a super fun day.

Thank God For Discounts!

One can usually avail a lot of discounts at Adventure Island. It’s just the place to use your student ID card, because you can get the INR 550 weekday ticket for INR 450 and INR 600 weekend ticket for INR 500 (if you book online). However, we’d probably bunk office on Tuesday for the INR 350 Happy Tuesday ticket. Check out their website for updates on all the offers.

For How Pretty The Metro Walk Bridge Looks In The Evening

It’s true: The Metro Walk bridge looks stunning in the evening, with all the lights and the glistening lake beneath. This city doesn’t have a lot of pretty lakes, and ones that are not super-crowded are even more rare. The bridge overlooking the lake is just the place where you can take a break (maybe with an ice cream in hand) and relive all the good times with your gang.
