Recreate Alia Bhatt's Wedding Look On Your Special Day

Hearts were broken when Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot, but we’ve all moved on and have loved seeing them together on screen in their epic jodi in Brahmastra. We're eagerly awaiting future releases where they reunite. While we may not be the biggest fans of the love storiyaan in the song 'Kesariya', we’re definitely swooning over how stunning Alia looked in her Sabyasachi bridal ensemble. She set a new standard for modern bridal looks, embracing both unconventionality and minimalism. So, if you adored her look and want to recreate it for your own wedding—or your bestie's big day—here’s how to get the bridal vibe for under INR 20,000!

Apparel

She undoubtedly looked regal throughout her wedding ceremonies. Styled by Ami Patel, Alia's bridal trousseau consisted of an ivory organza saree embroidered with tilla work, which was teamed with a matching hand woven tissue veil.

For her mehendi ceremony, Bhatt wore a Manish Malhotra lehenga with a sustainable approach, where approximately 180 textiles patches came together, to make up the gorgeous fuchsia pink lehenga and blouse embellished in real gold, silver nakshi, kora flowers, and vintage gold metal.

We went high and low looking for apparel looks similar to Bhatt's style and here's what we found!

Sarees: We love this Lavender Threadwork Net Saree that is priced at INR 4,990 that is fully embroidered, and perfect if you want to go a bit over the top! Another option is Ivory White Pearl Embroidered Organza Saree priced at INR 27,800 which is gorgeous, regal, and super sophisticated.

Lehengas: The lehenga worn by Alia was a unique piece made especially for her and her special day, but still, here are a couple of options under 20K that come slightly close! This Rani Pink Zari Work Lehenga by Koskii, priced at INR 16,990; and this Ruby Pink Lehenga Choli priced at INR 13,196 if you want something lighter.

Footwear

When it came to footwear Alia Bhatt decided to repurpose kolhapuri heels for her wedding which only goes to show that she doesn’t shy away from going the sustainable route. After her wedding, she was seen wearing embellished juttis that needless to say, looked super comfy and go amazingly well with ethnic wear.

Footwear is something that can make or break an outfit and it’s important that regardless of what you chose, you’re comfortable. Here's what we found similar to her style.

Kolhapuri Heels: Eridani Woven Rosegold Frida Kolhapuri Heels priced at INR 2,700, are super similar to what Alia wore. If heels are not your jam, you can always look at block heels that are more comfortable like these Zari Embroidered Block Heels priced at INR 2,600.

Jutis: These Embellished Juttis from Frizzy Goblet priced at INR 4,980, are all about comfort and style. Alia is seen a lot in Fizzy Goblet footwear, so go ahead and shop them here.

LBB Pro Tip: If you love juttis, then here are 13 more brands you should check out!

Makeup

Alia Bhatt chose to go the unconventional route with a very minimal look and her makeup was no exception throughout her functions. Subtle and natural, yet timeless and beautiful is how we would describe it. Her makeup was done by Puneet B Saini, who has worked with Alia time and again in the past.

Moisturizer: Clinique Moisture Surge (INR 950) - as hydration is key for such a look.

Base: Bobbi Brown foundation stick (INR 4300) - A foundation that doubles up as a concealer and gives a very natural finish. You can set it with Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder (INR 2300) then.

Blush and Highlight: Benefit’s Benetint (INR 1720) is probably the best you can get for a very subtle effect. Plus, beauty guru’s rage about Maybelline highlighter so we know it’ll be good!

Eye Makeup: Huda Beauty Naughty Nude Eyeshadow Palette (INR 5900), Huda Liner and Kajal Duo (INR 2050), Mac Mascara (INR 1100) - these products will have you sorted for a very similar look to Alia’s.

Lipstick: We heard that Alia Bhatt used a Charlette Tilbury lipstick for her looks, and this one’s quite a good match.

Jewellery

Alia Bhatt rocked kundan jewellery on her Mehendi as well as wedding, and looked extremely stunning. We scoured the internet to find the same jewellery, and found Aarushi Oswal who recreated Alia’s wedding look very accurately. The jewellery she used was from Choprasons Jewellers. You can also check out influencer approved (we’ve seen Komal Pandey sport their jewellery) Suhana Art and Jewels who would have similar options!

LBB Pro Tip: Here are more options for kundan jewellery that you can shop online.

Mehendi design

Alia Bhatt's mehendi design for her wedding was a seamless blend of traditional and modern elements, perfectly reflecting her understated and minimalistic style. The mehendi was carefully crafted with intricate patterns, featuring florals, paisleys, mandalas, and geometric motifs. The design was delicate yet detailed, with a beautiful balance of fine lines and bold strokes, creating a rich, textured look that was both rooted in tradition and infused with a contemporary touch.

Here are some tips to help you recreate her mehendi effortlessly:

1. Add a Personal Touch: One special detail of Alia’s mehendi was the subtle incorporation of personal elements. For instance, her partner Ranbir Kapoor’s initials were included. You can recreate this by adding the initials of your soon-to-be husband on the palms or fingers to make the design more meaningful.

2. Finish with Glitter: If you want to glam up the mehendi, add a light dusting of gold or silver glitter to highlight the design and make it shine—especially great for evening events or photo ops.

3. Choose Natural Mehendi: For a rich, dark stain that lasts, opt for fresh, high-quality henna. Let the design sit for a few hours to develop a deep colour before removing it.

Hairstyle

Alia Bhatt's wedding hairstyle showcased both elegance and simplicity. For her big day, she opted for a layered cut, styled in soft, voluminous waves, all done by celebrity hairstylist Flavien Heldt. She adorned her hair with a traditional sheer veil and a matha patti that added the perfect regal touch to the look.

1. Start with haircare: Begin by washing your hair with a nourishing shampoo and conditioner to ensure its smooth and shiny. You can use the Schwarzkopf Professional Bonacure Scalp Genesis Spa combo (INR 2860).

2. Add volume: To achieve the soft, voluminous waves, start by applying a heat-protectant mousse or voluminising spray to damp hair. You can go for the Streax Heat Protect Hair Spray (INR 299) that reduces frizz and adds just the right amount of shine.

3. Create loose waves: Use a large barrel curling iron or wand for soft, natural waves. This Dyson Strawberry Bronze Airwrap Hair Curler (INR 45900) can be your go-to for perfecting your curls by just a push of a button.

4. Add a hair accessory: If you're aiming for a similar look, keep the accessories minimal, just like Alia. You can go for fresh flowers, a delicate hairpin, or even a simple tiara, which will work beautifully. This OOMPH Jewellery Gold Kundan and Pearls Floral Maang tikka (INR 2970) can easily enhance your hairstyle.

5. Finish with a hairspray: To keep the waves in place and ensure the style lasts throughout the day, use a hairspray to help your hair preserve its natural volume and movement. Use this Schwarzkopf Taft Power Hair Strong Hold 5 Spray (INR 699) to hold your hair together without weighing them down.

LBB Pro Tip: Here are 8 hair sprays that will help you rock you hairstyle all day long!
