Almost all major markets in the city are shut today as part of a larger protest against the government’s ongoing sealing drive. The drive, which began in December last year, sealed off areas like Defence Colony, Khan Market and Amar Colony amongst others. Business owners in these areas have suffered a hit, and are observing a complete shut-down for all of today.
The markets to remain shut today include Connaught Place, Lajpat Nagar, Amar Colony, Kamla Nagar, Khan Market, South Extension, Greater Kailash, Karol Bagh, Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazaar, Ashok Vihar, Vikas Marg, Model Town, Azadpur and Kalkaji, amongst others.
