What Makes It Awesome

From the same people who gave us authentic Asian food to order from at Asian Haus, the best sushi at Sushi Haus; when we heard about the new addition to their Haus(es), we expected nothing less than amazing and authentic food. And, hey! That's exactly what we got at Amma's Haus. While we're social distancing at home 'cause of Covid-19, it's nice to know we don't have to sacrifice good food thanks to contactless delivery.
Amma's Haus goes way beyond the stereotypical dosa and sambhar (not saying that they don't do that extremely well!) They're hoping to provide us Delhiites with some authentic and experimental South Indian fare that'll totally open our eyes (and taste buds) to the real gourmet experience.
While we generally only find vegetarian dosas and such, this place has non-vegetarians sorted with their Chettinad Chicken Dosa that's stuffed with regional spices. We also recommend you get the Andhra Chilli Chicken which is their answer to our staple dish and the Amma's Fried Chicken because, well, who doesn't love crispy chicken? Vegetarians, try out their Paneer 65 which is spicy but not overly so and really flavourful, we also loved the Spinach and Beetroot Vada that we pretended was healthier than it is.
They've also got curries you can order with rice, biryani, idli, malabar parantha and so on. Try out the Fish Gassi curry that's flavoured with coconut milk and cashews and goes perfectly with the malabar parantha. If fish isn't your favourite, you can't go wrong with the Chicken Ghee Roast curry made with tons of spices, ghee (duh!) and topped with cashew nuts. And for vegetarians, you've got to get the Kokum Brinjal which is slow cooked, well-spiced and delicious!
If you're looking to eat some delish South Indian food that's authentic but doesn't feel too out there either, you can't go wrong with Amma's Haus!
Price: INR 275 onwards

What Could Be Better?

The coconut and tomato chutney that came with the food was so good that we hope they start packaging those and selling them separately, too.

Pro-Tip

They've also got a Lite Menu for the health-conscious foodies, we recommend the Beetroot Ragi Appam and Chicken Cauliflower Biryani.
