Mughal Arts is an antique store that hides invaluable treasures like grandfather clocks, water-operated vintage car toys and stones, some of which are almost 4,000 years old! Another one of old Delhi’s best kept secrets? Definitely.

House Of Collectibles

On the main lane in front of Jama Masjid is Mughal Arts, a 70-year old treasure trove of antiques. In a chaotic {but beautiful} place like old Delhi, this unassuming store is easily missable, but you’ve got more than one reason to drop by {more so if you love all things vintage}.

Run by Nabeel Baksh & his brother, Mughal Arts is a store that’s a lot more than what one sees at first glance. From the outside, the store looks washed-out and well, nearly dead. Upon entering you’ll see a room full of Islamic artworks, a more than 50-year old grandfather clock {made in Germany}, British era rotary dial telephones, vintage toy cars {that run on water} and the like. As you go further inside, there are two more mini floors where you’ll find more metal statues, Nepalese prayer chant frames and Italian marble stands, among many other things.

What impressed us most, however, was the 250-year dagger with intricate carvings and a metal case. Nabeel even showed us a 150-year old giant silver ring worn by princesses once upon a time.

Another reason why we love this store? Because all their products are still functional. Plus, they can polish the antiques and, if you have a particular vintage item in mind, they can even procure it for you or refer you to someone who might stock the same.

So, We're Saying..

The owners of Mughal Arts also have a factory in Okhla where they manufacture antique-looking decor items and even vintage sunglasses. So, if ever a need arises, you know who to call.

Price: Starting at INR 1,500 {antique perfume bottles} to INR 5 lakh and more.
