Now that all our travel plans have been halted indefinitely, my way of exploring the world was through Airbnb’s Online Experiences; for my last experience, I got to make fresh pasta with a woman in Italy. But, well, I was hoping to learn something from Indian artists and chefs, too, (hashtag vocal for local) so when Airbnb introduced At Home With Airbnb, I booked my first experience super quick. From Indian chefs and mixologists to yoga instructors and interior designers, there were a ton of classes to choose from, all held by Indian influencers.
I signed up for the art of calligraphy class held by the founder of The Bombay Lettering Company, Sanjana Chatlani. As someone with zero calligraphy experience, it was a super cool introductory class, and Sanjana was really patient, making sure everyone understood each step before moving on. Once the class ended, she also shared a bunch of resources for us to refer back to so we could keep practicing.
If art isn’t your thing, there’s a yoga session with the founder of Sarva Yoga, a home training session with Deepika Padukone’s trainer, and tons of food related experiences like zero waste cooking with the head chef of Mahe and a cocktail mixing class with the ambassador of Monkey Shoulder.
Price: INR 2,261 for the calligraphy experience
