Headed by Vaishali Gahalian, Baavli is a clothing line that does a contemporary take on Indian wear. From super trendy crop tops and skirts, kurtas, and palazzos, their clothing is a breath of fresh air from all the deep coloured, heavily embroidered and embellished stuff that we’re so used to seeing in Indian wear.
Theeir outfits in pretty pastels and whites that are super easy on the eyes. With the use of hand-painting, delicate applique work, and hand painting on tulles and flowy chiffons, the collection is quite playful and young.
While the silhouettes remain mostly Indian, the colour palette and the workmanship give it a slightly western feel.
What We Love
Their all-white outfits are simply beautiful. They give a delicate, feminine touch to the wearer and look stunning.
The embroidery and applique work is subtle and quite unlike the kind of heavy, garish work we’re used to seeing as a norm on Indian wear, and frankly, it’s a refreshing change!
Who Is It For?
For those who want Indian wear that’s not conventional or too traditional. These will be pretty much perfect if you’ve got your best friend’s cocktail or sangeet to dress up for.
