Beauty trends can be especially tricky to predict, they evolve constantly and there's something new and exciting happening all the time. Some are strikingly neon, and some are more questionable than others, like mehendi as a transfer-proof lip colour. For 2023, here are some of the cool ones we think will dominate the trends cycle this year.
LBB Crew Predicts Beauty Trends That'll Take Over 2023
Micro Makeovers
The Pinterest report 2023 says that small beauty is about to get a big break, and we fully agree (who knows millennials and GenZ better than the platform they use to source everything from). The report shares that there has been a surge of searches on short bobs, micro fringes, short nails, micro french manicures and even short stilettos.
This makes sense, we're all turning to comfort and practicality, and I don't know one person thought that Cardi B's long nails looked comfortable. Again, short hair is so much more convinient and GenZ tends to love everything that the boomer generation, aka their parents, seem to dislike. Agreeing with the report that mentions that maximalism in beauty has had its moment and people are looking to reset in 2023.
Scalp Care
2023 is the year of changing from within, which may or may not mean even more conscious consumers. Some refer to this trend as the skin-ification of the scalp, considering that it's an extension of your skin with more hair follicles. It's all about ensuring your hair grows healthily rather than focussing on just a better appearance. So, more oil massages, regular shampooing and scalp treatments, possibly scalp scrubs and no dry shampoos. To know more about it, keep reading here.
Skin Minimalism
Skinimalism (Skin+minimalism) is a trend that is all set to take over 2023. As the name suggests, it’s all about decluttering your skincare routine, stripping it down to only using skincare products as much as our skin needs. It’s the idea of identifying the fundamentals of your skin and giving it precisely that; minus extra steps, serums or essences. A simple CTM (cleanse, tone, and moisturise) routine is the perfect way to begin.
Coquette Makeup
Copper Hair
Starting towards the end of 2022, copper and auburn hair has seen a huge uptick. From SZA to Kendell Jenner, we’ve seen celebrities sport the copper look. With curl care continuing to be a dominant hair trend, we can expect big, voluminous auburn curls. For the straight-hair girlies, copper balayage and global copper and red shades will be the overpowering style of the year.
Grunge Looks
Thanks to Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams dominating the screens (both Netflix and Instagram), grunge make-up is back and seems to be the new favourite. For all us Evanescence and Avril Lavigne fans, it's time to live our 2010s dreams again with smudge eyeliner, bold black eyeshadow, black lipsticks and pink streaks!
Lip Peptide
Peptides are known to stimulate your skin to make collagen, which helps it look healthier and younger. Lip peptides are an intentional way to combat skin darkening and get plump lips in your daily skincare routine. Hailey Beiber, with her own brand, started a movement to care for the lips with peptides, and since then we've seen a rise in interest in caring for usually an ignored part of our face for a natural, healthy look. The best way to adapt to upcoming skincare trends is to protect and prevent your lips from being affected by any season!

Chebula
Beauty begins from the inside, and that's what chebula will help you do. This incredible fruit, which is referred to as a tropical almond, is used to detoxify your body and give you a healthy glow. Adding these supplements to your routine will let you have a natural cleanse and, in turn, promote healthy hair and skin.
Blue Tansy
The ever-evolving industry of skincare saw an explosion of ingredients in the past few years and Blue Tansy will be added to the list this year, which is a powerful anti-oxidant that claims to do it all. It's anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It has a calming and soothing effect on the skin and studies suggest it can even help with wound healing, and a range of skin concerns including eczema, acne and sun damage.
