Belgaum is a quaint little town overlooked by most in Karnataka. And while it's known for its quaint small-town charm, during the monsoons it gets even lovelier! We'd go out on a limb and say that the vibes then are immaculate with streetside golgappas and its highway dhabas.

When I visited in June, monsoons were at its peak which I suggest is the best time to visit. So if you're planning on visiting, here is an insiders guide to some of the best places to eat, see and stay when you're in Belgaum to get the most of this small town.

Best time to visit: April, May, and June which are warmer months, making the monsoon season the best time to visit. However, several folks also like visiting right after the monsoons between late September and October when the temperatures dip.

Places To Stay

Hotel Sankam Residency

When I was visiting, I stayed here and experienced a luxurious stay at a very affordable price. Some of the things to be highlighted here are the spacious rooms, the back garden with pool and the quiet ambient atmosphere. The prices here generally ranged between INR 2,000 - INR 3,000 per night, even during peak seasons. Additionally, they have an in-house restaurant which might I add has delicious food.

Pai Resorts

Not very different from Sankam, Pai Resorts comes with a few more amenities and services available along with halls for corporate meetings. The rooms here are spacious and luxurious and the open space is huge! Most of the rooms also come with a stunning view of the Belgaum lake. The prices here generally range between INR 3000 to INR 4000.
