When In Chhatarpur: Hit Up These Pretty Cafes If You're In The Area

Editors posted on 01 March

There’s been a lot of developments in Chhatarpur recently that have led to the cropping up of some adorable cafes and restaurant nooks. While this may have seemed like a slightly out-of-the-way area only a couple of years ago, recent years have seen eateries come up that serve up the most delicious food, with a delish range of both sweet and savoury stuff. Here’s a list of places you need to get food from when in Chhatarpur.

Serendipity Cafe

The wooden window frames in teal, paired with the soft, white curtains adorning the large glass windows are tasteful and totally Instagram-worthy. From their brunch menu, the potato salad was aptly potato-y and quite refreshing. Soaked in a mix of red wine, olive oil, cream, mayonnaise and dressed with garlic, onion and parsley, it was definitely our favourite. Chow down on the Roast Fish With Chilli Sauce, the home-baked bread, the Vegetable Grata with Broccoli and Mushrooms, and the risotto, while immersing yourself in the cafe’s plush ambience. Also, enjoy the feeling of being far away from Delhi.

Cafe Dori

The menu here is a melange of pan-European cuisines, along with lots of egg and meat-heavy dishes. Sip on coffees and teas by Clive Road, or, if you’re on a bit of health mission, a fresh juice, smoothie or kombucha. The cafe is located inside their concept store in Chhatarpur which means you can of course drop by the store and in addition to taking home everything from their collection, you can also get their karigars to customise something just for you. Hop in here for a quick meal and a shopping spree, all in one go.

V's Bake Shop

So guys, this home baker’s cute chai boutique at Chattarpur is now ready to treat you to tea, coffee and gluten and sugar free cookies, cakes and chocolates. Along with a dose of sunshine, of course. Everything coming out of her oven is free of that deadly maida-and-cheeni, and essentially a love letter to wholesome, organic desserts. Folks who’ve eaten can’t stop raving about the Vanilla Banana Cake, Espresso Cookies and Matcha Raw Squares. In keeping with their philosophy of reducing wastage, they have a cake of the day. From morning to night, you can step in for a healthy slice, and pair it with a whole variety of teas from No. 3 Clive Road and Tea Trunk. The usual suspects like cardamom and ginger aside, we see interesting blends like marshmallow, dried apple, kahwa and celery seed detox tea.
