Kids Classes To Make The Upcoming Summers A Bit More Productive

The information in this post might be outdated

If you’ve got little ones at home, you know the struggle of keeping them occupied in a constructive way all too well. There’s only so much TV you want to let them watch; instead, opt for these fun-yet-educational activities to keep them busy with.

Play In The Park

This one hits it out of the park. Created and run by the dynamic duo of two powerhouse moms, Jillian and Natasha, Play In The Park is the perfect activity for kids in many ways. It gets them outdoors {and away from gadgets}, and kicks their imagination into high gear.

Children aged 4 – 8 years can put their creative hats on and spend the hour on crafts, games and theater arts. What’s cool here is that they introduce the basic concepts of theater at a young age, and in a creative manner. When the weather permits, Play In The Park heads outdoors to let kids be kids.

Mozartsy

Music has long shown to have a positive impact on a child’s cognitive skills, as well as their emotional development. Plus, kids generally have a rocking good time at this incredible, fully-equipped studio. Mozartsy offers classes for children ages 1-7, plus mom-and-me options, and even a class for expectant mothers.

Our favorite part here is the variety of Indian and western instruments they teach {especially the percussion classes}. They also offer private lessons on singing, guitar, flute, violin, drums, djembe and tabla.

The Children’s Riding Club

Specially designed and created for Delhi’s littlest equestrians, the Children’s Riding Club is a great way to introduce your child to horses, or to further build their horseback riding abilities. Kids are taught the English style of horse-riding, plus given lessons in dressage and jumping.

What we really love about this class is kids are encouraged to bond with the horses and develop a love for animals in general. Bonus? They now offer classes for adults too, making it a great option for parents looking to get out of the house along with their kids.

Lego Class

This isn’t an ordinary building blocks class; it kicks into high gear and teaches children the basics of robotics as well. Taught by the enigmatic Emi, kids learn about machinery, pulleys, axles and other engineering systems that can be observed all around us, introducing the kids to the concepts of basic physics in a real {and exciting} way!

Children can start as young as toddlers, and work their way up as they are introduced to Duplo, Technic, and eventually Lego WeDo robots. Our favorite aspect of this class is that it is STEM-centric and taught by a woman; a wonderful role model for little girl engineers in the making.

Young Chef’s Academy

At the Young Chef’s Academy, your little ones learn to cook in a kitchen that’s kid-friendly, making simple dishes without getting hurt. And unlike other cooking classes for children, these are not demo based; they are completely hands-on and let the kids get elbow-deep in dough as they learn the basics of cooking. Best of all, the kids get to taste their creations at the end of class.
