What's common between people on the Internet and people who have sensitive waterlines? They both get easily offended. It must be known that the writer has been wearing lenses for the past 10 years whilst being in love with everything eye-makeup related. Needless to say, the laziest starter kit for someone who loves eye-make up, has to involve a kajal stick. But being someone who wears lenses (hello sensitive eyes) it's hella important for me to choose a kajal stick that won't bleed, irritate, or make me all the more impaired. For that, here are the best kajals you can use for sensitive waterlines all recommended by lens wearers, and the LBB crew.

My go-to since time immemorial, this kajal stick by Maybelline is pigmented, and easy to use. One stick lasts you a while but even though it claims to be smudge proof, it however does. But I keep re-purchasing solely because it does not irritate my eyes, or become flaky (which is quite bothersome if you wear lenses) Maybelline's a good affordable kajal brand too which gets it more plus points, plus has aloe vera, and is waterproof.

I've used this M.A.C. 24hr kajal eye liner for a while now, and though it doesn't stay on for 24 hours, it definitely doesn't wear off quickly. I've cried (from laughing too much), my lenses have popped out and I've had to put them back in, but the kajal stayed on. More importantly though, since I wear lenses, it's not ideal to be drawing lines in the eye to get the colour. This kajal is highly pigmented and in one stroke gives you a bold, black look to highlight the eyes.

Loved by Manya this one by Disguise is a 2-in-1 kajal and eyeliner that is super pigmented, easy to glide, and is free of toxins, lead, parabens, and other nasties. She says that it doesn't irritate her eyes and there's no burning with the "fumes" which is much appreciated. And even though she does not wear lenses, it's good to know that the product is ophthalmologically tested, and is suitable for contact lens users.

I've also used the Plum kajal stick in the past and only chose to because I trust Plum as a brand and was excited to see that they're slowly venturing into cosmetics too. This one has the smoothest single stroke application, does not smudge, and is one of the best kajals for lens wearers like myself. It's also got jojoba oil, shea, and vitamin E which are known for their moisturising capabilities which in this case means no flaking! I particularly love it because it's ophthalmologically tested and approved.

I also use the Forest Essentials Gulaab Khaas kajal but the Cobalt Blue one. It's creamy, glides easily and since it's Ayurvedic (and I do trust Forest Essentials), I am not panicking about what goes in my eye. In fact, it's made from cow’s ghee and coconut oil so it's almost good for you! Who knew your favourite skincare brand could excel as a top kajal brand too!

Zareen blurted out Faces Canada kajal stick in a heartbeat when asked about the best kajal brand for sensitive eyes. She loves the colour pay off, and is very appreciative that it does not burn her eyes at all. Other than that, this one is made of candelilla wax, and can be used as an eyeliner too.

Diksha swears by the Nykaa Rock The Line Kajal and can easily be spotted wearing this every day. She loves that it's easy to wear, doesn't smudge most of the time, and is highly pigmented. Other that that she loves that it has vitamin E and C, can be used as an eyeliner and claims to be transfer proof which she says is mostly true.

Siya came across this kajal brand while watching one of Malvika Sitlani's beauty empty vlogs and bought it on a whim, and fell in love with how smoothly it glides on the eyes. While she isn't a daily kajal wearer, she loves using the shade 'Loam' for her outings by smudging it out on the waterline for that subtle yet sultry smokey effect. The pigmentation is fab and stays put on your eyes without any itching happening, plus, its all organic!

Nitika rarely splurges on makeup (because she doesn't need any), but this kajal from Too Faced is her ride or die for special occasions when she wants to sport a dark kajal-rimmed eye look. A MUA-approved black kajal for eyes, this intensely waterproof kajal for eyes is perfect for dramatic eye looks. Worth the splurge if you don't mind investing in a bougie but good kajal.

Colorbar is a top kajal brand in india. The Colorbar MesmerEyes Kajal is another of Siya's kajal stick recommendations, more like her mom's go-to kajal for everyday. This long-lasting kajal doesn't smudge, fade or budge and apart from this, the intense black pigment is insane and might be one of the darkest black kajals you come across.

What To Look For In A Kajal

Texture: The kajal tip has to be smooth because no one wants to tug or poke their eyelids.

Longevity: No one wants to touch up their eye makeup throughout the day so a long-lasting kajal that does not bleed is essential.

Formula: The kajal should be creamy but not so much that it moves all over the places and ends up giving you raccoon eyes.

Tip Size: This depends on what you are comfortable with. A small and precise tip is great for getting neat strokes but some might prefer a thick one for a more grunge effect.

Chemicals: Since you are literally putting kajal inside your eyes (on the waterline), make sure its free from harmful chemicals, parabens and sulphates.
