Food

Dilliwaalo ka romance with food is on another level, and if I’m to write about all the places you could fall in love with this would probably become a never-ending read. But to start the affair head to these iconic places and some famous dishes you must try out. To gorge on yummy vegetarian (and sanitary) street food, you can head to any Haldirams or Bikanervala. If you fancy fine dining I recommend you head to Indian Accent at the Lodhi or Bukhara at ITC Maurya in Chanakyapuri.

Shopping

You can easily dedicate an entire day to Old Delhi and its labyrinth of alleys and by-lanes. We’d suggest reading this guide before you make the trip because the place can seem pretty baffling. Red Fort

National Rail Museum

As Sheldon Cooper would put it, “Trains are Awesome!” The National Rail Museum in Chanakyapuri exhibits the history of rail transport in India With over 100 ‘real-size’ exhibits!

Nehru Planetarium
If astronomy intrigues you, catch a show at Nehru Planetarium Delhi which is one of the five planetarium’s that has been named after India’s first president, Jawahar Lal Nehru. These shows last about 40 minutes and are available in Hindi and English.

National Gallery Of Modern Art
Delhi’s National Gallery for Modern Art (NGMA) preserves and presents contemporary Indian art from the last century and a half.

Gandhi Smriti Museum
Built as a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, the space is where Gandhi himself spent the last 144 days of his life.

National Handicrafts And Handlooms Museum
Located on the corner of Pragati Maidan, facing the Purana Qila complex is the National Crafts Museums which is one of the largest crafts museums in India. While you’re here you must eat at Café Lota which offers a contemporary take on regional Indian dishes
