The Middle East, has among other things, given us the succulent, meaty and yum shawarma, which we’ve Indianised and very happily made our own. While the shawarmas in Delhi may not be exactly like those made in Lebanon or Turkey, they are nonetheless, divine. So, we’ve compiled a list of the best shawarma places to get you rolling on a budget shawarma trail that offers more than just Al-Bake {which we also love btw}.
Roll With This: 10 Places For Delicious Shawarma Under INR 200
Shawarma Waala
Starting at just INR 60, Shawarma Waala can make your day all better with its Chicken Shawarma and Paneer Shawarma that has tender, juciy meat/paneer, rolled to perfection in a soft bread and served with thick mayo {not the water-y kind}. A lot of our days in college were spent dreaming about this shawarma which almost all North Campus students look forward to having after their lectures {or in between}.
Shawarma King's
Karol Bagh is home to a number of great, pocket-friendly eateries and Shawarma King’s is definitely one of them. Their shawarmas loaded with spices and moist meat/paneer are delicious and filling, which makes it the perfect snack to extinguish your hunger pangs. They don’t have a lot of options but what they offer is top-notch.
The Tummy Section
The Tummy Section in West Delhi serves some of the best shawarmas in the city. It is a small outlet that even serves a Chicken and Paneer Shawarma Pizza that’s grilled to perfection. We say, try everything here!
Kennedy's
We love Kennedy’s for its variety of shawarmas like Butter Sauce, Hot Garlic, Cheesy, Minty and many more variants. Starting at INR 70, the shawarmas here are served with an additional chutney and it certainly adds to the overall flavour. Kennedy’s shawarmas will probably make you believe that West Delhi is a gift that keeps giving.
Spice Aangan
Spice Aangan in SDA Market is quite famous for its shawarmas and why shouldn’t it be when the food they serve is delectable. However, it slightly more expensive but definitely worth the price. If you’re in the mood to hog, then their box of four rolls for just INR 240 is what you need.
Kebab Gali
Kebab Gali has outlets in Malviya Nagar, Vasant Kunj and Dwarka. It has only two shawarma options – chicken and paneer shawarma but what they offer is enough to bring you back over and over again. Also try Chicken 65 and their Nihari too. However, we recommend that you dine at this restaurant instead of ordering-in from here, since they are not prompt with deliveries.
Wrapchick
Wrapchick has two outlets in Gurgaon – one in Sushant Lok and another in Sector 14. The best part about this place is that they serve mouth-watering rolls till 3 AM! Wraphchick’s shawarmas are seasoned and grilled to give us the perfect shawarma with a choice of sauces like mint, mayo and sour cream.
B Shed Cafe By Kennedy's
Rich and savoury shawarmas with different dips like mayo, salsa, chipotle, sour cream and mint is what B Shed Cafe By Kennedy’s specializes in. They are generous with their filling and their packaging is neat and convenient. B Shed Cafe has not been around for very long but it’s already gaining a lot of customers.
Lebanese Point
Lebanese Point has been serving stellar shawarmas and grilled chicken for more than 10 years! The chicken shawarma here has a buttery texture and we love that it’s served with pickled radishes. Just one of their appetizing shawarmas is more than enough to satisfy one hungry soul.
Shish Shawarma
Try the Chicken Shawarma at Shish Shawarma that has a filling of chicken chunks {instead of mince}, diced tomatoes, lettuce, mint and onions. The shawarmas here are served with garlic sauce and middle eastern pickles. Shish Shawarma also gains points for having a clean and tidy seating area.
