We are happy to report that this year has brought a certain change to our shower routine. We have officially decided to bid goodbye to shower gels for its new, not-so-distant cousin— shower oils. These are oil-based body cleansers that have a greater moisturising feel on the skin, and are luscious without compromising much on the emulsification action.

The OG shower oil that might or might not have made the internet fall in love with shower oils altogether. Made with sweet almond oil and grape seed oil, both rich in omega 6 and 9 to leave the body feeling soft and supple, this one is totally worth the buck. The fragrance is heavenly as you smell like a delicious almond croissant after use. Moreover, this one you gives enough lather to wash away all the grim off of your body.

Koheva is a vegan, cruelty-free homegrown brand bringing luxurious formulations that are science-backed to Indian consumers, at a doable price. Their in-shower oil with an oil to foam formula has a blend of six nourishing oils which are sunflower oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil, olive oil, almond oil and pomegranate oil that emulsify together beautifully to give you a lovely bathing experience. However, you require a generous quantity for every wash so you might go through a bottle sooner than expected.

We came across this shower oil upon Dr. Geetika Mittal Gupta’s recommendation. This shower oil from Bioderma is fab for folks with sensitive, dry skin as it intensely nourishes while cleansing the skin and also restores lipids and soothes the skin. It has a rich consistency that lathers well when used with a loofah and since it’s from Bioderma, you can be assured it will do wonders for your skin barrier.

Similar to the Loccitane shower oil, the Kama Kokum Almond shower oil too has sweet almond oil (organic in Kama’s case) at the forefront of the formula. Apply it to wet skin to form a light lather that gently cleanses the skin. It has jojoba oil and kokum to further soften and moisturise the skin. Also, we read in one of the reviews that it works well for shaving too!

Want to smell like a French patisserie? Drop everything and get this shower oil from Sadhev that has vanilla present in it for natural fragrance. It also has coconut as a cleansing agent followed by castor oil, sesame oil and almond to nourish the skin. Do make a note that the fragrance is super light so you might want to follow it up with a vanilla-scented body lotion. Also, they have a few other scents like lavender, coconut and rose to choose from if vanilla isn't your cup of tea.

If you are looking for a pocket-friendly option to give shower oils a try, definitely consider this one from Asaya!
