India's First Black Burger at Barcelos

All we Facebook and 9gag addicts are exposed to a bunch of exotic, almost unreal treats from China and Japan – from lemon cheesecake Kitkat to cucumber Pepsi – on a daily basis. Needless to say, we end up spending a significant amount of time wondering why these goodies never make it to India. For the ones who fascinatedly followed the black burger episodes at the Japanese Burger King back in 2012, your wait has been brought to an end by Barcelos.

The South African chain, known for its peri peri chicken, only last week launched the Black Burger and has been serving them endlessly since. But whereas its Japanese counterpart was coloured with squid ink, Barcelos claims they’ve used herbs and organic ingredients to darken the bun {no they’re not willing to reveal it all}.

So what does the Black Burger taste like? Peri good, from what we hear. Available in both chicken and vegetarian versions, you can choose from four peri peri sauces, from mild to hot, and a tangy lemon for those who can’t handle spice at all. The dark bun may not look super appealing, but it does add to the taste {and of course, experience} of it all.
