Bohra Sisters on Instagram is our latest but proud discovery. The duo draw old traditional Indian prints, from doodling to illustrations by hand, often giving us a glimpse into the endearing and everyday parts of their Bohri family. The Instagram account has been started off by sisters Sakina {who lives in Toronto} and Zainab {who lives in Udaipur}, who come from the small Dawoodi Bohra community, also the inspiration for their Instagram handle. Bohra Sisters mainly do illustrations, doodles and stop motion videos for social media branding for companies.
The adorable illustrations of their Bohri family. Whether they’re cooking Bohri dabba gosht, or when they make us meet their humorous granny fighting off the pigeons at the terrace, we find ourselves engrossed in their life. They hand-draw these beautiful stories, or use Adobe Software for their stop-motion projects.
Get introduced to their naughty ‘Tota Miya’ {the pet parrot} or the elderly Farida Khanum with an ancient gramophone. Also find hand block prints, peacock prints, beautifully done colourful elephants, and a guide to their Ammi’s Hath Ka Khana in the kitchen {for the homesick foodies out there}.
These prints are available for order. They are most active on Instagram, and we found them to be extremely responsive to our messages. They have a stock of designs to choose from, or will take customisation orders from customers. They deliver free of cost in India, and/or will also email high resolution photographs. Their printing sizes are flexible, and the prices will vary depending upon the size.
