Get Out Of Bed And Head To The Book Fair In Pragati Maidan!

What Is It?

World Book Fair is back with a week-long book shopping extravaganza from Jan 7 - 15 in Pragati Maidan. You can expect some 1,000 Indian publishers and about 30 foreign names… can you even imagine the mountain of books that awaits?!

Who Is It For?

Everyone who likes to live through the written word, of course.

Publishing industry giants and those hoping to promote unique literary offerings will all be present. This means that there’s something for the geek, the traveller, the studious front bencher, the high-brow literati and the design maverick.

Why Should I Go For It?

Over 44 years, this book fair by the National Book Trust has become a part of every enthusiastic bookworms’ annual calendar. This year won’t be any different with the chance of grabbing classics, limited edition reads, quaint coffee tables, reference books you can’t find in neighbourhood book stores, or elusive out of print titles.

There will be tiny authors corners for discussions, book launches and good meaning dialogue too!

We also believe that book shops are a beautiful sight but fast disappearing in the wake of newer, more profitable ventures like restaurants {so sad}. So unless you want this crazy book mela to join the ranks, you’d better go and make lots and lots of impulsive purchases.

Anything Else?

English language and vernacular publishers will be present and categorised into sections like science, technology, children's literature, social sciences, e-books and so on.

But the best way, as we all know, is to reserve a whole day and spend way too much time just hanging around.
