Ten Second Takeaway
If your knowledge about the north-east of India doesn’t extend too far beyond Bihu dance or mekhala chadars, don’t miss the three-day long North East Festival for a healthy dose of culture from the sister states.
What can you expect?
A dedicated handloom and handicraft exhibition showcasing artisanal creations {from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Sikkim}, dance performances and gigs {by bands & artists like Lou Majaw, Girish & The Chronicles, and Indian Ocean}, and about 25 food stalls offering north-eastern cuisine and delicacies. Mark your calendars, we say.
PS: We hear you can even buy north-eastern vegetables that are not easily available in Delhi…which means more jadohs and masor tengas to cook at home.
When: 16th – 18th October, 11am – 10pm
Where: Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts {IGNCA}, CV Mess, Janpath
