About half a decade ago, I tried something called a 'Chai Frappe' from a place I won’t name here—and it was the worst. Little did I know that adding boba and a few other flavours would transform it into a global sensation the world now can’t get enough of. This drink, originating in Taiwan, has amassed an unparalleled fan base, including folks right here in Delhi. And that’s no surprise—give a tea-obsessed nation, sweltering in heat and humidity 99% of the time, a drink like this, and it's bound to be a hit. It's delicious, fun, and a true refreshment.

So, I can’t fault the Gen-Z crowd (says a writer who is also Gen-Z, albeit technically) for flaunting their bubble teas on Instagram and Snapchat. The boring old milkshakes just don’t cut it anymore! That's why here are the coolest spots in Delhi serving up bubble or boba teas.

Tea Bear GK

Tea Bear, a tiny and charming bubble tea café in M Block Market, GK-I, is the perfect spot when you're craving authentic bubble tea in Delhi. They source their teas directly from Taiwan and offer high-quality tapioca black pearls, just like the original Taiwanese version. When I visited, their staff, or 'Bobasters' (trained by experts from Taiwan), were incredibly sweet and helpful. The manager personally explained how they import authentic tea flavours like taro and cantaloupe straight from Taiwan. They even collaborate with the embassy to curate their menu—talk about authenticity! Tea Bear also offers vegan and low-sugar options, with a wide variety of flavours to choose from.

Got Tea Safdarjung, Humayunpur

Founded by three friends—Yu Sung, Armaan, and Jo—Got Tea is a unique bubble tea café with a Korean twist. They incorporate a traditional Korean sweetener called ‘Jocheong’ in all their drinks, but don’t worry—you can customise the sweetness to your liking. The trio, who studied together in Mussoorie, wanted to create a space that blends Korean and Indian cuisines, as Yu Sung is Korean.

Got Tea has since become one of the most popular bubble tea spots in the city, with four outlets—two in South Delhi and two in Gurgaon. Some of their delicious flavours include Chocolate Matcha, Blueberry Bliss, and Mango Coconut, among others. Just writing this has us craving some bubble tea, so go ahead and order yours ASAP!

Another new spot in Humayunpur—soon to be dubbed Bubble Tea Town—is Boba Nation, perfect for a casual, low-effort date over bubble tea, corndogs, and cheeseballs (which definitely caught my attention). Boba Nation resembles a takeaway stall with its eye-catching popping blue exterior. While their menu isn't extensive, they focus on a few items and do them well. Some of the flavours they offer include taro, Thai tea, and hibiscus & ginger.

This laid-back garden café, a popular hotspot for Delhiites chasing the winter sun, has introduced an all-new bubble tea menu. This makes perfect sense, as the café was born from the idea of simply enjoying a cup of tea or cold coffee over fries with friends (even if your friend is a book) while catching up in a place with a wholesome vibe and great food. Now with multiple locations and an expanded menu, the ambiance remains the same. Their iced teas come with popping pearls, and they also offer bubble tea smoothies in intriguing flavours like orange chocolate and chocolate truffle.

Yigyal Cafe, MKT

Majnu Ka Tilla is another area brimming with spots to enjoy refreshing bubble tea. The prices here are certainly much cheaper than anywhere else in Delhi. I remember visiting on a particularly hot day and getting bubble tea from a tiny takeaway momo stall for just 100 bucks! It wasn't the most flavourful or the best, but the heat had people crowding around that stall. Yigyal Cafe is not that stall; it’s a charming café in the area with great prices. They have a cute cartoon drawing of bubble teas on their wall, which makes for a great backdrop for Instagram stories. People have left rave reviews about their caramel and strawberry bubble teas, so be sure to add them to your list!

Well, you must add bubble tea to that list as well!
