I feel like the second my frontal lobe fully developed it also developed an obsession with me trying to find my signature scent. This has resulted in me going through endless bottles of perfumes, mists, ittars, and what I like to call 'sniffing' adventures where I go into a fragrance store and spend hours sniffing new launches, iconic ones, and, of course, adding to my endless (bank balance ending) list.
The latest on my list is Burberry's iconic 2018 drop, Her. I mainly gravitated towards this because, one, I was told the bottle is pink, and two, someone said that if you despise fruity fragrances, then this is one fruity fragrance that you'll fall in love with. So, of course, I went and checked it out, and boy, were they right.
When it comes to the bottle itself, it is pink! But it is also simple, sleek and clean, which I like. For the fragrance, yes, I did feel like someone picked me up and dunked me in a bowl of fruit punch. The top notes are heady and fruity and may make your eyes water with how strong it is (in a good way). It is a floral Fruity Gourmand fragrance for women, and the nose behind this fragrance is Francis Kurkdjian. Here's a breakdown of the notes:
Top Notes: Strawberry, Raspberry, Blackberry, Sour Cherry, Black Currant, Mandarin Orange and Lemon;
Middle Notes: Violet and Jasmine;
Base Notes: Musk, Vanilla, Cashmeran, Woody Notes, Amber, Oakmoss and Patchouli.
While I was drawn to this new perfume, I realised that it costs over INR 10,000. If like me, you're also looking for something similar to see if the fragrance is for you, here are six alternatives to Burberry Her that cost a fraction of the original.
LBB-tip: Please note that all these alternatives have been curated keeping in mind the top notes of the perfume.
