Upon going through Doh Tak Keh’s blazing collection of clothing, what we saw was confidence and audacity packed in a milieu of traditional textiles and modern contemporary wear. Their clothes have redefined scraps and Indian textures and prints in a way that describes today’s generation and their freedom. Their deconstructed style of clothing doesn’t seem scrappy, but rather outlandish and superb in conveying moods of all sorts.
With embroidery on jeans, atrangi pants, careful weaves of design on shirts, colourful patchworks on tops, Doh Tak Keh’s clothing line is aiming for picking up every inch of fabric that is pushed to the background and bringing it back in style. They’ve incorporated skilled artisans who represent the work behind the booming fashion industry and aim to cheer their journey and bring their craft to the spotlight.
Their clothes are “concept pieces”, each with a story weaved into it, not to mention, most of the pieces are gender fluid and made ethically. With complete artistic freedom comes beauteous works of wonder, and that’s exactly what Doh Tak Keh is producing with their close-knit team of workers.
