Chances are, you are also experiencing the seasonal dread of planning the perfect Valentine’s Day for your sweetheart. We understand the utter dilemma and Cadbury Silk is here to assure you that the language of love lies in sweet gestures and indulgences. If you are looking for something more memorable to do this Valentine’s Day, how about spending a day with our furry friends who are the perfect embodiment of unconditional love?

If your Instagram messages are full of cute dog reels and silly cat videos, and you share a passion for animals, then spend your Valentine’s Day at an animal rescue centre! Trust us, it is a meaningful way to celebrate the day of love while making a difference in the lives of the animals in need. From feeding, cleaning, and grooming the animals to spending time playing and interacting with them — a day at an animal rescue centre will be a memory for the ages! We’ve curated a list of animal rescue centres where you can spend a day with our four-legged friends to have the perfect celebration of love.

The Barnyard

The Barnyard is a one-of-a-kind petting farm located smack in the middle of South Delhi where you can pay a visit to play around with dogs, cats, cows, horses, donkeys, guinea pigs, sheep, rabbits, ducks, hens, and even turkeys. With a prior booking and an entry fee of INR 500, you can have the chance of playing with these rescue animals and feel all your stress melting away. Bring a smile to your significant other’s face with these adorable little critters, and spend some quality time bonding over their antics!

Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre

Delhi’s largest and oldest animal hospital, SGACC is a community-driven non-profit that has been helping animals in the capitals since 1980. From offering medical and birth control treatments to rescuing animals in distress, SGACC does it all for free. You can spend a fulfilling day at their rescue centres walking dogs, feeding rescued animals, or even petting the friendly cows at the dedicated gaushala.

Red Paws Rescue

The good folks at Red Paws Rescue have been taking care of stray dogs in Delhi for the last decade and are always welcoming volunteers who can help them with their various initiatives. One of the best ways to get some dog therapy is to volunteer with Red Paws Rescue! Simply fill out their Google form where you can choose to spend the day walking the doggos or working with them on basic training for puppies. Is there any faster way to fall in love than holding a warm puppy in your arms? Go ahead and volunteer, it’ll be the highlight of your Valentine’s Day!

Jeevashram

A small haven for animals big and small, Jeevashram is primarily known for running an excellent vet hospital while hosting various awareness drives and rehabilitation facilities. What many do not know is that they are always looking for volunteers who would love to spend some time with the animals at the facility, showering them with much-needed affection and non-stop rounds of petting!

All Creatures Great And Small

All Creatures Great and Small (ACGS) have created a small sanctuary away from the hustle-bustle of the city where rescued animals have a permanent, peaceful home to live their lives in comfort and contentment. Apart from injured and abandoned dogs, cats, mules, donkeys, and more, they also house some of the emus from a failed emu farming experiment in India. You can make a day out of the visit to this sanctuary & spend some quality time at the farm helping out the animals with cuddle therapy!

In this season of love, make these adorable creatures a part of your love story and spend some time extending your affection to those who might need it the most. After all, the language of love is not just hugs and kisses but woofs and purrs too!
