Calling Travel & Thrill Seekers To Volunteer At The Hero MTB Himalayan Race

Rene posted on 19th August

What Is It?

In its 12th leg, the famed Hero MTB Himalaya 2016 is a chance to cover 650kms across the pristine environs of the mountains and witness extreme mountain biking. However, not everyone’s built to ride a bike and that’s totally fine.

But if you like adventure and travelling to new places, you can participate as a volunteer. You get meals, transport between different stages of the race and memorabilia {among other things} for your contribution. The only cost to incur is the travel to and from Shimla – a small price to pay, we feel.

Who Is It For?

If you’re a social media guy/someone who’s into graphic design/blogging or even media management, you can register for a host of pre-race operations. Or, you can travel with the riding crew and handle feed zones, supplies, photography, videography, branding and fill other important roles.

Bonus: Cosy tents to stay in, and outdoor time.

Why Should I Go For It?

180816_MTB Himalaya (Mountain Biking Himalaya)2Basically, we think that it’s a great way to explore and meet new people who might be miles away from your social circuit otherwise. Nature lovers, fitness enthusiasts, adventure buffs, manic organisers, lover of spectator sports and communication experts are all invited to this long party.

It’s obviously a plus that you spend only to travel to Shimla and get to enjoy so much in return. Hello, shoestring budget travel!

Anything Else?

Applications for volunteer programmes are open till Aug 28. So, you might want to make up your mind quickly and hurry up with convincing friends you think can tag along. The race kickstarts on Sept 24 and ends on Oct 3.
