Shortcut

A short walk from the beach, Casa Candolim is a sprawling Portuguese home that has been converted into a tranquil getaway without cutting you off from the energetic vibe of North Goa.

Mi Casa, Su Casa

Over the years, Casa Candolim has won rave reviews from happy travellers, with most of them gushing about the spacious property, personalised service, and the fact that it doesn’t cost the Earth to rent {in North Goa, that can be a rarity}; easily reasons enough for you to book a room at the enormous Portuguese beach house. Surrounded by coconut trees, the bungalow, painted a happy yellow, has eight spacious rooms, and we’re loving the little touches of vintage Goa around the property. An old-world, woven relaxing chair where you snooze, a cushioned vintage bench in the lawn where you can read a book, and a gorgeous antique dresser at the doors of the property, there’s nothing we don’t like here.

Sun ‘n’ Sand

Plan to stay cooped up at Casa Candolim through your holiday? You shouldn’t find it too difficult. The property comes with a library, and if you want to exercise your muscles, there’s a small pool for you to lap about in. The cafe at the property serves Continental breakfasts, and we recommend that you stop by at tea time; their coffee and cake servings are said to be delicious! When you want to venture out, you won’t have to wander too far out for a slice of a sunny beach. The Candolim beach is just a few minutes away and so are all the best shacks in the area. If you love water sports, Candolim beach is a perfect spot to go parasailing and jet skiing. When you are hungry, do stop by Candolim favourites like Bomra’s, House of Lloyds, Calamari, and Fisherman’s Cove, and party hot spots like Baga, Anjuna, and Calangute are also just a short ride away {you can hire a taxi or bike at a stand nearby}. If you are on a budget, you can also catch buses to travel through the beach districts. At the Sinquerim jetty close by, you can hire boats to go dolphin spotting. Also, don’t miss the Aguada Fort nearby, for some breathtaking views of the emerald-green sea.
