We proudly call ourselves Pizza connoisseurs, after sampling all that Delhi has to offer and then some. In that endeavour, there was one place still unexplored. A sunny Sunday had us driving down for a brunch to 'Big Fat Pizza'. We were probably the first patrons of the morning because the place was empty and smelt fresh.
We ordered their Pizza Diavola (duh), The American Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Ricotta Bites & Loaded Belgian Fries with Bacon bits and Mozzarella.
The Loaded fries were the first to arrive and were good, fried just well enough to be crunchy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside.
The Ricotta Bites were the second to arrive and to be honest, were disappointing, mainly due to the cheese which did not feel like the flavour blast good cheese is. Also, the combination with hazelnut cream works only if the cheese is a formidable opponent.
The Pizza looked good and tasted fresh but nothing out of the ordinary, however, know that we are comparing them to the likes of Leo's and Evoo's.
I had the highest hopes from the Grilled cheese sandwich, however, it suffered from the same failing as the Ricotta, the cheese felt industrial and frankly a letdown.
Rest gives it a 3/5 and it's worth a try.
