What Is It?

There’s a cherry blossom festival happening in Shillong where you get to witness the beauty and grandeur of pink and white cherry blossoms, immerse yourself in music gigs, guided walks, rock concerts, bicycle rallies and so much more.

Who Is It For?

Maybe you’re someone who’s a pretty-things-enthusiast, maybe you just love music concerts and rock bands killing it on stage, or someone who likes their wine and art in pretty places, or someone who just likes collecting mesmerising travel experiences under their belt—no matter the case, this one’s for you.

Why Should I Go For It?

Organised by the Meghalaya government, the Cherry Blossom Festival will be host to a multi-faceted experience with cultural, natural, musical, and artistic elements attached to it.

You’ll get to gaze and wonder at the beauty as you’re taken on guided night walks under the illuminated cherry blossoms to experience the progressive natural beauty of the Khasi Hills. If that wasn’t enough, there will also be a profusion of cultural activities like music gigs {from rock to traditional to western music}, dance performances, and a beauty pageant.

There will also be stalls showcasing the region’s wine {we’re sold}, arts, crafts, and cuisines. You’ll also be witness to choir performances, bicycle rallies, storytelling sessions of local and world folktales. And if witnessing wasn’t enough, you can also partake in the same—all events remain open and free for all {is this even real?}.

Anything Else?

There’s a Golf Cup happening, and you can participate in that if you’ve got a killer swing. Who needs to go to Japan to witness the Cherry Blossoms when our very own North East is all set to win our hearts?

Where: Shillong, Meghalaya

When: Nov 8–11

Entry: Free
