Ten-Second Takeaway
Our favourite dim sum house, Yauatcha, gets ready to celebrate the year of the rooster with a specially curated menu that features old favourites and new delights.
Small Bites That Delight
Yauatcha’s forte has always been exquisitely crafted dumplings and other delicious small plates, and that’s where this menu shines too. The Chicken & Prawn Shumai is addictively good, combining the best of both land and sea, and has perfect bite and consistency.
The Chicken Coriander Dumpling, delicately crafted and pretty in purple, and the Sesame Prawn Toast came a close second.
Herbivores can delight in melt in the mouth Truffle Edamame Dumplings, or the very juicy and liquid laden Poached Peking Dumplings. We also loved the Turnip Cakes- box shaped tasty treats that were lovingly laced with chillies and scallions.
Sugar And Spice
Our appetites decided to brave mains too after all this gluttony- and we're happy to recommend a hearty Mapo Tofu, Crunchy French Beans with Shiitake and the piece de resistance- a Spicy Wild Prawn Curry. Save some space for Yauatcha’s sensational sweet treats; both the Chocolate Pebble, and the Luxe Gateau are like fine art and so divine- each spoonful will send you straight to dark chocolate heaven.
New Year Tipples
Who cares if it’s a lunch menu? We relished each sip of the well-balanced Black River Martini- a deep red symbolic of the year of the rooster, and warming enough to make us smile on a chilly January afternoon.
