Things got so much sweeter in Dhan Mill Compound since Colocal, a bean-to-bar chocolate factory that also has a cafe, entered the space. Huge al fresco dining areas, lots (and lots) of plants and, obviously, the scent of chocolate as soon as you reach the door, Colocal is pretty much a chocolate lover's dream come true. They've got the richest, smoothest hot chocolate, sourdough pizza, and a ton of other things on their menu you'll keep going back for.
I tried out the 65% hot chocolate which was honestly a bit like drinking melted chocolate, no milky watery base. I also had the margherita sourdough which was my favourite thing I ate and the hard shell tacos filled with veggies, salsa and sour cream. They also have a lot of vegan options, as well as pastas and burgers that I'm excited to go back for. I couldn't leave without eating dessert so I got the (highly) recommended chocolate tart topped with cacao nibs that they make on their own and the flourless chocolate cake that was fudgy and gooey and perfect with a cup of cappuccino.
I got to tour the chocolate factory on the first floor (basically live out my Willy Wonka dreams, sans oompa loompas) and the owner, Sheetal, explained every step to me as they're the first chocolate roasters in India. After the tour of where the chocolate is made, I even got to visit their bakery that smelled of fresh dough.
All the chocolates that they use in their desserts are also available for sale at the counter. The place is also pet-friendly and the server very kindly got a bowl of chicken for my dog to have while we ordered our own food.
