Spearheaded by two wonder women, Connecting NER is a platform that celebrates the rich art and culture of the North-Eastern states through its handicrafts. These folks aim at getting the crafts born out of this region, the global recognition that they deserve while also providing a workplace for the local artisans. Wonderful, isn't it?
Connecting NER's range of handcrafted goods is made using traditional techniques and eco-friendly materials like bamboo, cane, cardamom and the likes. There's something from every state in the North East. We're talking Flower Cane Basket from Assam, Elaichi (cardamom) Placemats, Longpi pottery and jewellery from the villages of Manipur, handwoven bamboo lamps and so much more. We were awed by the intricate details and designs on these beautiful (and functional) home decor items. The finishing is absolutely perfect and when used with care, these are sure to last a lifetime. Not to forget, these would jazz up your homes like anything.
You can also shop for bamboo storage baskets, cane handwoven bowls, cane planters and a few lifestyle products like bags and organisers made using kauna grass from Manipur. Functional, eco-friendly, economical and elegant - it's a complete win if you ask us.
