I went to DeCakery on Golf Course Road near DLF Phase-5 with very high expectations as I've been a client of Divya Sreeji's cakes for over a year now and know her well, know the amount of attention and thought she puts into everything. This cute and cozy cafe cum designer cake boutique takes your breath away with the chintzy gold and pink furniture to the lovely English-style upholstery, the pretty bird cage lights, and the hand painted walls.
Now on to the main event. I thoroughly enjoyed the mushroom quiche and the honey, ginger and lemon tea that I ordered. The quiche was perfectly baked with a crispy crust and a soft, cheesy delicious flavour. Indulgent and moreish. The tea was rightly made with a good dash of ginger and a dollop of honey and a generous squeeze of lemon. Perfect. I would have preferred bigger plating for the quiche and this was communicated to Divya. I packed another quiche and slices of Belgian chocolate ganache cake for home. Jiya was thrilled and gulped them and announced that they were the softest gooiest the best chocolate cake, she has ever had.
De Cakery is located on the second floor of South Point mall, opposite Barista and is very reasonably priced and gives you a warm stylish setting to enjoy your tea and coffee with elan.
