Delhi Drawing Room is a community of art enthusiasts who host paint parties at cafes and restaurants across the city. Art noob or a budding Frida Kahlo, everyone’s welcome to these paint gatherings where the idea is to enjoy a fun, artsy weekend.

    What Makes It Awesome

Snehal, the Founder of Delhi Drawing Room, tells us that the concept of these paint gatherings started in Mumbai, at her own house when she wanted to throw a different kind of party for her friends and fam. She sent out the invites, uploaded pictures of the parties on Facebook and what started as just a creative way to host family meets soon became a full-time job that expanded to cities across India. In Delhi, these paint parties are usually organised once a week at our beloved SodaBottlerOpenerWaala, but you can check the date and venue for their latest meetup on their Facebook page.

Sit-around-and-do-nothing kinda parties can be fun, but attending a relaxed arty-party can be therapeutic, too. All the sessions here are hosted by artists who’ve majored in art, or at least have been painting for five to six years. All beginners are welcome. During each party (two or two and a half hours long), the artists will guide you at every step, and looking at all the pictures we’ve seen on Delhi Drawing Room’s Facebook page, we’re pretty sure that you’ll be impressed. The parties are organised for different age groups (kids 10+, adults and more), follow different themes and techniques and they’ll provide all the art materials along with food and drinks (yay!).

    What Could Be Better

We wish they had a comprehensive website as well, to keep an easier track of their next event.
