What Is It?

The Delhi International Arts Festival {DIAF}, one of India’s finest multi-arts, multi-venue cultural festivals is back for its 11th edition bringing together more than 200 artists from across 35 countries like Taiwan, Israel, UK, Argentina with the sole aim of celebrating art in every form. At the DIAF which starts from 11th November and goes on till 25th, works of artists from across different fields like music, dance, theatre, films, literature and puppetry will be showcased.

Who Is It For?

Culture vultures who’d enjoy folkloric dances from Egypt or a Taiwanese puppet dance performance, groove to the old {but gold} tunes of Broadway by a Delhi-based troupe, would love to catch a wordless play and circus performance by an Argentian theatre group, among many other interesting acts will definitely have a great time at the DIAF.

Think Delhi’s a boring city that never has enough to offer for those who love art? This cultural festival with events held in more than 45 venues across the city is for you.

Why Should I Go For It?

Because it brings together the best of international and local artists, and not one or two but more than 200 of them together. This festival will see more than 250 events – the Vande Mataram multi-dance production at the Purana Qila, qawwali by the Nizami Brothers, Ramayana performances by Padma Shri awardees, Cantonese movie screenings, multi-lingual poetry readings, Vietnamese Border Guards’ traditional dance and music act at the closing ceremony in Qutub Minar are just some of the performances you could keep an eye out for.

The festival with its fascinating performances will be like therapy for the mind and for the soul, so there’s no reason why you should give it a miss. And well, the entry is free {there, we said it}, so drop by with fellow art-loving friends and fam maybe?
