What Is It?

Delhi Poetry Festival is the foremost culture and literary fest in town, and for its fifth edition, it’s coming to IIT Delhi. It is India’s largest, standalone poetry festival and we can’t think of a better event to witness our city’s literary prowess.

Who Is It For?

The festival is the perfect fit for aspiring poets, storytellers, enthusiasts, writers and anyone who generally likes to treat their ears to some soul-pleasing poetry and music.

Why Should I Go For It?

The past editions of DPF have been raging successes, and this year’s edition looks like it will stand right up there—even better, in fact. This edition will see a massive leap in the quality of overall content, and will have a bunch of literary legends showing up. Plus, a whole lot of activities.

They’ve previously hosted some big names like Ashok Vajpeyi, Naresh Saxena, William Dalrymple, Javed Akhtar, Prasoon Joshi, Piyush Pandey, and Madan Gopal Singh among others, and you can count on them to leave you awestruck this year as well.

In terms of performances, there’ll be poetry plays, performance poetry, musical features by well-known artists, mushaira, poetry & films, poetry recitals by celebrities and a whole lot more. There’s also going to be food stalls {you’ve just been convinced, haven’t you?}, activities organised by the Student Activity Centre, and book stalls for signings and launches!

Anything Else?

The event will take place at the campus’ open-air amphitheatre, and we can’t wait to listen to some beautiful poetry amidst the windy weather and the lush greens.
