Of Markets, Masjids & Mysteries: Delhi Walks & DMRC Are Organising Heritage Walks For You

What Is It?

Delhi Walks has tied up with DMRC to organise curated heritage walks in different areas of the city like Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Chawri Bazaar and Chandni Chowk. Four categories of these walks {with eight sessions} will be hosted throughout the month of August in an attempt to acquaint people with the rich culture and heritage of the city.

A session of walks titled Sair-o-Shahjahanabad {Chandni Chowk}, An Empire’s Tale through the Blooming Red {Red Fort} & Masjid-e-Jahanuma {Jama Masjid} have already been held. Keeping in mind the different themes, localities and landmarks of each area, more sessions of such walks and also new ones {like The Tales of the Trader, Chawri Bazaar} are being organised on the upcoming weekends.  The meeting points for all these walks are the respective metro stations.

Who Is It For?

History enthusiasts, art aficionados and all the people who want to gain new experiences, learn more about the city and are willing to spend their weekends doing something other than hibernating in bed, should sign up for these walks… pronto!

Why Should I Go For It?

Because you just might come across various picture-perfect hidden corners and lanes full of stories that you never knew about. Also, when has knowing more things about the city you live in ever hurt anybody? In fact, you could actually get the chance to show-off this new found knowledge before your friends and family.

Anything Else?

More such walks are being organised in the month of August, follow the Delhi Walks Facebook page here or visit the DMRC website for updates on the same.

Tickets priced at INR 500/walk.

Duration: 60 – 90 minutes

When: Aug 12 – Sair-o-Shahjahanabad {Chandni Chowk} and Aug 13 – The Tales of the Traders {Chawri Bazaar}
