What's nine-yards long and basically, another word for elegance? Yep, you guessed it right, a sari. Desi Dhaga is a Benarasi label and home-run company that curates traditionally weaved saris.
Tanya Singh who is responsible for bringing authentic Benarasi weaves home via Instagram, started the brand only a couple of months back. Initially, it was just a social media account run by Tanya (who was inspired by her nani's sheer grace in saris) where she uploaded photos of herself draped in saris. Soon after, she started receiving a lot of requests and questions about styling saris and about the ones she was wearing. This gave birth to Tanya's brand - Desi Dhaga, where she now curates and works closely with local artisans in Banaras to find only the best of the best weaves.
You can expect to find Karwa weave, Rangkath work, and Upada weave with this label. Not only this, but they also retail digitally-printed saris (how fun is that!?). They have fabrics like Matka cottons, linens and silks on their website, starting at INR 2,800.
Apart from the saris, they've also got dupattas in pretty designs and sustainable fabrics.
