Designer & Luxe Labels To Shop Wedding Wear Under INR 15,000 From Nykaa Fashion

The Queen of Prints usually comes with a price tag that's fairly high. But that is an illusion, we find. With a whole lot of outfits that stay true to her quirky character and design, you can get funky maxi dresses, super cool sarees that will make you the belle of the ball, and coord sets that you must pair with swag!

Old-school folks will know and love Wendell Rodricks for his flowy dresses, fluid outfits, and vibrant colour combinations. And that remains, but with much for affordable rates than before. In fact, it's almost like their pret collection but without really calling it that. What I love most is that the outfits are so versatile you can wear them as comfortably on a beach as you can a fancy yacht party! Or just a brunch with the crew.

Known for abstract prints, antifit silhouettes and usage of Indian prints in modern styles, you'll always find a hint of edge in Saaksha And Kinni outfits. You can mix and match a lot here, and either up the ante with accessories, or keep it casual with shirts and denims.

An ode to Indian textiles, prints and the culture in general, Chandrima Agnihotri started her brand after gaining experience in the industry working with stalwarts like Abu Jani, Sandeep Khosla and Rohit Bal. And it shows in the designs she creates. A blend of culture, craftsmanship and practicality, the ready-to-wear label is my new favourite find for things that are truly offbeat. While the collection is expensive, pick up elements under INR 15,000 for that added class of couture to any of your outfits. The applique work on the majority of the outfits is what caught my attention. Expect plenty of frills and ruched designs too.

A paradox of whimsy and functional, modern and vintage, elaborate and minimal, PS Pret by Payal Singhal is ideal for the hardworking woman who has a boho heart and aesthetic! With an emphasis on wearability and value for money, you’ll find fabrics like crepe, silkmul and georgette in this collection. Light, falls well, and like we’ve said, ideal for the girl on the move, the designs are practical too! Think dhoti pants with an attached drape, jogger pants with dupattas, shararas with crop tops and you have a selection of outfits to choose from to stand out. While the pret line has most things under INR 20,000, we’ve still picked from under INR 15,000 and are still spoiled for choice!

Getting Varun Bahl under INR 15,000 is a big deal okay! Not only are most of the designer’s offerings ideal for weddings but the prices are high and justifiably so. So, despite getting very distracted by the gorgeous lehengas, gowns and sarees, I am here to tell you that there are kurtas, dresses and tunics, starting at just INR 8,500. Be it chanderi tops to pair with a saree or trousers, kurtas that can moonlight as dresses or even panel dresses that you can happily wear to a mehendi, roce or reception. There’s plenty under budget. Phew! Now go say at the next Diwali party, ‘“Oh this? This is Varun Bahl, of course!”

Functional, flirty and drawing from the parent label Aby Jani Sandeep Khosla, Gulabo, is all about mirrors and gota pati but in a more functional and flexible option for either festive or everyday wear. We love that the pret collection is quintessentially by the dua, and even through prices are lower, the quality is still fine. Expect flowy silhouettes with dainty details like dhoti pants with a coin band, short gota jackets to be worn over sarees, dresses and crop tops, and even short kurtas for the festive season. Prices start at INR 2,500 so you entire ensemble can be from Gulabo By Abu Sandeep, you star!

My favourite find from Nykaa Fashion for designer couture, Verb, by Pallavi Singhee has dresses, kaftan, jackets, tops, tunics, co-ord sets and plenty to pick from. And the best part? The Western and the fusion wear collection is almost entirely priced below INR 20,000. This made my task of finding options under INR 15,000 even easier! This is one brand we really went all out with because at that price range, you get everything, not just a blouse or shirt. Full-length dresses, co-ord sets, cutout beach vibe maxis, tiered dresses, oh, we can go on and on! You’ll also find outfits for different occasions from boho patterns for the vacation, sequined skirts and dresses for the festive season and even ruffled mini dresses for the weekend partying.

Not only does this brand make amazing outfits, but they’re also all about sustainability. With the fabric being ethically and locally sourced, local artisans and tailors being the creators and the silhouettes themselves being timeless, there’s plenty to love about Angry Owl. Capes, dresses, kaftans and co-ord sets are plentiful here, and we’re here for the stylish, non-fuss designs. Dresses and shirts start at INR 6,000.

Yes the duo is known for their bridal wear mostly, but have you seen their kurta sets, printed sarees and blouses? No? Then please do! With a bold take on prints - think red tigers on chanderi silk sarees - and dazzling sweatshirts embellished with sequins, Saksham & Neharicka is where you go if you want to stand out. Not everyone’s cup of tea, the outfits I specifically like are much more outlandish be it in print, colour or style. Of course you will also find more classic options, but then again, why?
