What Makes It Awesome

Our go-to bar in Mehrauli that’s serving up some delicious middle eastern food with a modern twist is finally back! Diablo is one of the few places in this area that has opened up again among the fanciest of stores and restaurants in the area and what we love about them is their chic interiors and amazing food. Sadly, they aren't serving alcohol anymore so while we loved their cocktails the first time we visited, now we'll have to stick to mocktails.

As soon as you walk in, you can’t miss the gorgeous interiors; gargoyles at the entrance, a ghost bar that’s unlike any other we’ve seen, you’re definitely in for a new experience at Diablo. We love the contrast between the indoor and outdoor seating; where the outdoor seating area is modern and clean with a lot of white space, the indoor seating screams millennial pink and eclectic furniture that just seems to go together so well.

As for the food, we’re not ashamed to say we definitely over ordered. And, honestly? We don’t care because we loved every bit of it! On their menu, they’ve got tons of our favourite Mediterranean salads, mezze dishes from hummus to spanakopita, pides, kebabs and so much more. You can’t miss trying their unbelievably good black hummus that comes with freshly made pita that you’ll keep reaching for. We also recommend skipping the hassle of getting lots of smaller dishes and just going big with the kebab platter that comes with a mix of chicken, prawns, fish all cooked to perfection.

But we can’t talk about Diablo without mentioning the cocktails! All of their cocktails are named after demons so you can take your pick depending on how devilish you’re feeling (or whatever you’re in the mood for). We had the Devil’s Garden G&T which came in a HUGE glass with rose petals and some nitrogen magic for theatrics. (Reminder: they're not serving alcohol at the moment.)

We’re definitely going to keep going back to make our way through the entire menu.

Price: INR 1,500 approx. for 2

What Could Be Better

The dessert menu is pretty limited with only one Middle Eastern dessert option, the chocolate & hummus platter. Otherwise, you can only get a cheesecake or an apple bundt cake.

Pro-Tip

You'll need to call ahead and reserve a table a few hours in advance but if you're booking for the weekend, try to call a day before so you can get a table.
