Kim's Store and Cafe is stocked with the most authentic of Korean groceries (think Dae Chun Gim's roasted seaweed, Jin Ramen and more) and they also have a tiny cafe section where you can stuff your face with Bibimbap and Korean Sweet Pancakes.

Great For

Authentic Korean groceries, condiments, quick meals.

What Makes It Awesome

We had our doubts about making a trip all the way to an unknown area in Munirka but we're glad we took that leap of faith. You might have some trouble locating the cafe (thank God for Google Maps!) but once you do, Kim's seems like a world away from the crowd outside.

As soon as you enter, you'll see shelves full of readymade ramyun, wasabi peas, Korean condiments, freezers loaded with ready-to-eat chicken wings, Korean pork cutlet and lots more. You'll also find some Japanese groceries in the lot and there's even a tiny counter full of artificial jewellery (which wasn't that impressive).

At the other end of the store is the cafe with elegant wooden interiors, a beverage counter, and flat screen that plays K-Drama (in Hindi!). The menu at Kim's Cafe is decent with options for Kimbap (Korean sushi), rice bowls, and Korean snacks like Fishcake Bars and Cheese Odeng, among many other things. We opted for the Shin Ramyun (served with eggs and small pieces of rice cakes here) which was good, but not particularly extraordinary. However, our fellow companion thoroughly enjoyed the Japchae Rice (glass noodles, rice with chicken and veggies).

What Could Be Better

We wish they had more desserts on their menu. When we dropped by the cafe, the only dessert on their menu (Korean Sweet Pancakes) was also out of stock.

Pro-Tip

To reach the cafe, you'd have to walk through narrow roads, so getting a car in the area will be a hassle. Instead, get down at the Munirka metro station on the pink line (on the Munirka market side) and walk it.
