Unlock, Unbox, Unwind: This Gurgaon Cafe Has Killer Food, Yummy Cocktails & A Business-Casual Ambience

Shortcut

If you’re looking for good food, a pleasant ambience and a killer a la carte menu as well as buffet, Gallery Cafe in Gurgaon is the place to be.

The Not-So-Small Plates

Where do you begin when you are spoilt for choice? We started our culinary journey with Crispy Chicken Bullet Chillies, Kolkata Chop and Paneer and Mushroom Kebab Ensemble. The sight of bullet chillies might scare you a little, but this dish is not as spicy as it looks. A perfect mix of crunchy peanuts, ginger, garlic and bite-sized chicken, this is one for those who like a bit of spice in their food. The Kolkata Chop came on a bed of upma served with achaari sauce and feta cheese. Consisting of tiny balls of minced beetroot and carrot, we couldn’t have imagined this would taste so good. And then comes the pretty paneer and mushroom in tiny tea glasses. The paneer comes stuffed with nuts, and the mushroom caps have a touch of methi, served with a tangy green chutney – so you’ll definitely start your meal on the right note!

Meals That Bowl You Over

Almost stuffed {but not enough yet}, we moved on to the main course. With the Mushroom Stroganoff, Karol Bagh Chhole Kulche, Clay Pot Tofu with Mushroom & Crispy Shallots, & Mansoori Bhai Purani Dilli Mutton Curry, we thought we had the world on our table. Herbed rice with the Stroganoff just killed it and the chhole was the right kind of tangy {honestly, not fans of chhole but this dish almost converted us}. The sauce in the Clay Pot was heavenly, and went perfectly with the Garlic Fried Rice and Mutton Curry that was everything that we love about Dilli 6. Chef Dharmendra and his people skills deserve a special mention here; he was at our table with every dish and you could see that he loves preparing these meals.

The Worthy Sidekicks

Feeling as stuffed as a turkey on Thanksgiving, we barely had room for dessert but it’s not good to leave the table without eating something awesome. We got our hands on the indulgent, chocolate pudding with fudge, caramel and dark chocolate ganache, topped with vanilla ice cream and a refreshing ice cream and fruit sundae a with peanut praline. We couldn’t ask for anything better to end the meal. All this deliciousness was washed down with some heady Merlot sangria and Bourbon toddy {because, winter!} but you can pick absolutely anything from their huge range of drinks.

So, What Are We Saying?

The location of this cafe is perfect. Nestled close to the business centre, and with all that is buzzing around, this is a much better place to have your business lunches and dinners or even chill and unwind. The ambience is cosy, and the outdoors have pretty fairy lights that’ll transport you into your dreamy, date vibe. The service is really good , with forever smiling staff and food that does not get delayed. The vibe here screams business-casual so you don’t have to worry about being all prim and proper. We are definitely going back for more.
