Blind School Diwali Mela
Blind School Diwali Mela is a yearly event in Delhi and can safely say that we are always impressed by most of the stalls that we come across. Usually, you can find beautiful handwoven chanderi dupattas, salwar suits, dressy palazzos, metal neck pieces, and a lot of other interesting stuff but you might have to navigate your way through crowds of aunties too. This year's mela will be on from October 15 - October 17.
Vishal Mega Mart
We recently visited Vishal Mega Mart in west Delhi’s Vikaspuri area and were pleasantly surprised by the kind of pretty looking yet affordable kurtas we found. They had a range of mix cotton and polyester kurtas with gold detailing starting at INR 800 only. And well, good news for you guys too because Vishal has outlets across Delhi and we hope that you’re able to get your hands on the best of festive wear they have to offer. Hurry before it’s all gone!
Pro-Tip: You can even shop online. Our pick is this printed lehenga skirt, which can easily be styled with a crop top.
Westside
Westside is generally where we head to during those times and why not when you get so many options under one roof and at economical prices too. Dressy anarkalis, shiny palazzos, chic kurtis, bangles, necklaces and having lots of other apparel to choose from, we’re sure that you’ll leave Westside happy and it won’t burn a hole in your pocket either. They have multiple outlets across Delhi NCR and an online presence too, if you're too lazy to step out.
Sarojini Nagar
No market better echoes affordable shopping than Sarojini Nagar and if kolhapuris and earrings are what you’re looking for, Sarojini is the place you should head to. We’ve generally found the best collection of kolhapuris at the stalls opposite Babu Market (for as low as INR 300) and we suggest you begin your shopping spree here. Make your way inside the market and head to the lane opposite Old Tree where you’ll find numerous temporary stalls selling earrings in all shapes, colours, and across different budgets.
Pro-Tip: Read our hood guide to know all the best shops, places to eat, and things to do in Sarojini Nagar!
Janpath Market
Janpath and the markets around the area are an affordable shopping haven that rarely disappoint. From juttis and kohlapuris starting at INR 400 to kundan-style earrings, anklets, bracelets (starting at INR 100), and bags starting at INR 500, you’ll find all kinds of accessories here. These markets will nonetheless test your bargaining skills, so make sure that you put your best foot forward.

Bittoo Chappal Waala
Paharganj’s Bittoo Chappal Waala makes it to most of the lists on budget shoe shopping in Delhi and there are numerous reasons why. First, you’ll find endless rows and piles of strappy sandals, juttis and kolhapuris here for every occasion, be it – office, casual outings or dressy occasions. Second, they have good quality footwear that’s worth every penny of the price that you pay; which brings us to our third and final reason, the price you pay is very reasonable. We’ve found kohlapuris with motifs and embroidery for INR 450 too! Quite a steal, we say.
Pro-Tip: Right opposite to the railway station near the Paharganj main market, you’ll find wholesalers selling artificial jewellery for half the price you’d find it for in Dilli Haat. Be sure to have a look.
Dilli Haat, INA
Dilli Haat is synonymous with accessory shopping and not including it on this list would probably be a sin. If you’re looking for heavy earrings or those with intricate detailing, you’ll find the best of those and in plenty at Dilli Haat starting at INR 250 (try bargaining and you might get it for 200 too). Oh and while you’re there, be sure to check out the fancy kolhapuris and juttis at the first stall on your right. Nothing like a desi jutti to complete your look, right?
Kamla Nagar Market
Being the student-friendly market that it is, you can find a world of accessories like fancy kolhapuris, earrings with all sorts of customisations like tassles, feathers, colourful ones with pom-poms but you’ll also find the traditional gold drop earrings, jhumkis and the like. This market also has stalls selling potlis, bags, embroidered clutches and even bangles but you might have to bargain too.
