The long lines, the bans and the recent shutting down of several bars; it’s safe to assume a lot of us are done with Hauz Khas Village. But we’re not quite done partying. So where you go for your next Saturday {Or Tuesday} night out? Take your pick.

Auro

With a massive terrace and a swanky bar, Auro is our go-to spot when the weather’s playing nice. Add to the ambience their well-blended cocktails {we love the Pop Fashioned – whisky infused bourbon with beer syrup and angostura}. If you’re lucky, you might just catch some live music too.

PS: You can always head to Summer House Cafe if you want to party harder.

The Electric Room

The Electric Room stays open till 5am but the best day to go here is Friday as they play live music till midnight and then start with the regular house and electronic. Try their Gin Fizz and Pomegranate Caprioska.

PS: If you hold a Gymkhana membership, you can get drinks at club prices every Thursday here.

Raasta

We were thrilled to hear of Raasta’s shifting from HKV to Aurobindo Marg {where The Yard used to be}. The new Raasta has a beautiful terrace, cocktails served in a bong and the same party vibes as the original. Win-win.

Piano Man Jazz Club

This isn’t your typical party spot but still pretty ideal for a Saturday night out in town. You can enjoy a live band playing, sway to the tunes and sip on some potent cocktails. The space is usually packed on weekends so head early to bag a good table or at least a good spot to stand at.

BED

BED {Beverage, Entertainment and Dining} was recently the talk of the town. They manage to pull in a pretty good crowd, play commercial music and have a guy dressed up in a panda costume who occasionally graces guests with his presence. Of course, this is accompanied by the Panda song. Not sure how we feel about this but their martinis are on point.

Grappa

Grappa at Shangri-La’s Eros Hotel is a surprisingly popular party spot. It’s open till 3am but if you manage to get here between 6.30 and 7.30pm, you can treat yourself to bottomless beer and sangria pitchers. Or maybe save that for a post work date.
