Books transport you to different times and places without you having to budge (great self-isolating pals). But why read/transport alone? This is a question Vowelor asks too, an application that lets readers connect and discuss books and authors with each other in real-time. It also claims to be India's first virtual reading platform with over a 100,000 readers and authors.
Not just that, Vowelor aptly provides solutions to many bibliophile-related problems (yay, representation). Here are the features we're vibing with. Once you download the app, you login (either through Google, Facebook or Amazon) and land the welcome page where you enter your top three interests/genres. Following this you can use the super cool scan feature to scan the book you're currently reading (use the barcode on your book), this way you get to build your library.
If you're often hit with the "What should I read next?" question, click on the 'Find Next Read' option in the bottom menu and you can freely find books based on your mood. All you have to fill three words that best describe your current reading mood and Vowelor will hit you with recommendations. Also on the homepage are All Bookclubs and My Bookclubs, the former letting you follow libraries of readers or Bookclubs you find interesting, and the latter giving you the freedom to create your own and invite friends. You can even chat with the readers/authors you follow, and if you happen to follow their libraries you will also receive notifications each time they add a book.
