An online farmer’s market, if you will, FarmerUncle is a platform for the country’s farmers to sell their produce directly to consumers.
FarmerUncle was conceptualised to provide a two-fold benefit to farmers and consumers. By uploading details of organic fruits and vegetables, dry fruits and assorted farm produce, farmers can connect with their buyers, share details about expected harvest date and farming practices and, most importantly, set a price for their produce (as well as retain 70-80% of that price).
Making the switch to consuming chemical-free, organic farm produce is a healthy lifestyle change and FarmerUncle enables this. Orders are accepted for produce only when it is close to being harvested and then rushed to the doorstep of the buyer, so that freshness is guaranteed.
The produce available on FarmerUncle changes depending on season and what’s being harvested by its farmer community, but broadly there are five categories – fruits, non-organic fruits, vegetables, farm produce and dry fruits.
