Cancel your Sunday trip to Gurgaon for a worthy brunch. The goodness of eggs benedict on toast, sourdough loaded with burrata, cherry tomatoes, and avocados, soft wood-fired pizzas, and brilliant brilliant coffee, can now be found in the heart of the city at Malcha Marg.
We have been long time lovers of Fig at Museo;we take pride in being one of the first to pledge loyalties to the space, and them having found a home in Delhi has made us only immensely happy. The space is huge and stunning, with two massive staircases, glass walls letting in the light, marble floors and countertops, there is nothing not to love. Decor enthusiasts will especially love this place not only for how well done it is, but also because all of the art that is up can be bought. Ever, walked into a cafe and wished you could have the exact same painting in your room? Congratulations, you can now experience that beautiful slippery slope IRL.
Coming to the showstopper and MVP, the food. If we could have it be a person and marry it, we would. This time around, we tried both the avo toast and the burrata and cherry tomato bruschetta. We genuinely couldn't choose which one was done better, and chomped it down in seconds. The shakshuka eggs were done beautifully and we also tried the salmon carpaccio, which was everything you want a salad to be -- too pretty to eat, and too delicious to not dream about.
We didn't have any more room for dessert, but we did try their Iced Coffee, which hinges in perfect balance between sweet and strong.
We can't say that it is just the food that will have us returning to the cafe every other weekend, it was really the entire dining experience. The minimal and well-lit cafe embodies the feeling of Sunday, when you still have a full day ahead of you to relax and bask in, and you surround yourself with as many good things as possible. That being said, we can't wait to see what the cafe will look and feel like against the backdrop of beautiful Delhi winters. We will find out, you will find us there.
