Open Till 3 AM, Get Your Fix Of Butter Chicken At This Jail-Themed Restaurant In Gurgaon

A jail-themed restaurant in Gurgaon, Lockup, is winning for its quirky theme and decor, as well as the criminally scrumptious food.

Known for its unique prison theme, Lockup is a great place to go to on a night you’re looking to switch things up. The innovation, however, is limited to the surroundings and ambience. Prison bars, uniformed servers and Bollywood music – everything about the decor {right down to the funky cutlery} will keep you interested. Don’t go here on a first date, though – prison bars confine your table so that you can’t escape any awkward situations.

The servers are dressed in very filmy black and white uniforms and the menus, with metal bars, are juxtaposed against a gold-framed photograph of Gandhi –  this is one prison you will want to go to voluntarily.

The menu has basic Indian and desi Chinese food but it’s the non-veg platter that comes highly recommended. Rich, Indian food, the opposite of what prisoners are actually served, somehow overshadows the theme. The food is great and there’s absolutely no hope of getting any skinnier in this prison.

Tuck into your favourite tandoori naans, butter chicken and crispy fried spring rolls and finish your meal with the shahi tukda. 

Justice doesn’t sleep and neither does Lockup. The restaurant is open till 3 am, so you can satisfy any midnight hunger pangs here, as well.
