In its second edition and having moved to a bigger venue, Delhi Food Carnival is making a comeback this weekend. Hit Ansal Plaza on Jan 27 or 28 for a day of eating a lot of food, enjoying live musical performances and just walking around populating your Insta feed with all the cute trucks and waffle kiosks in the backdrop.
Food Trucks, Qawwalis & A Biryani Eating Competition: This Fest Will Make Your Weekend
What Is It?
Who Is It For?
While the obvious thing to say would be foodies, it’s also a great place for lazy squads to hangout. Delhi winter is one of the best reasons to be outdoors and when it comes with the prospect of being able to sample such diverse cuisines and listening to Harrdy Sandhu and Nizami Brothers’ Sufi renditions, it becomes hard to turn down.
Why Should I Go For It?
Their idea is “old meets new” and so, they’ve handpicked brands that celebrate Old Delhi delicacies with as much love and gusto as New Delhi’s newest fads like coloured waffle cones {OMG, we’re picking purple ones}. Well-known like NYC Pie, Dilli Pushtaini Zaika, Iqbal’s Mughal Cuisine, Brown Sugar, Sumo Sushi, Yellow Eye, and a bevy of food trucks including FLIP On Wheels, Hunger Theka and more. These apart, there are Old Delhi favourites including Karim’s, Kallu Nihari, Daulat Ki Chaat and the likes.
P.S. We hear there’ll also be a live boxing match in an attempt to promote the sport in the country. And, a specially curated flea market. Whattay medley, right?
Oh, and a whole lot of fun eating challenges involving biryani, jalebi and more are also going to test your appetite.
Anything Else?
If you got no plans of heading out of town, you can drop by to hear some music and hog mercilessly on everything from fries to churros and kebabs to sushi. In short, world’s literally your oyster. Go, eat with both hands.
The entry ticket for a day is INR 100 and you can buy it here. Follow the updates on this Facebook page.
