Friends from Mayur Vihar had been raving about this outdoor place close to the Mayur Vihar metro station whose Hazelnut Mocha comes at INR 60. We decided to drop by for a quick check.

This modest place with plastic chairs outside shares a wall with the next door CCD but royally puts it out of business with its variety of teas, coffees and comfort food.
We pondered over the menu, torn between lemon tea and irish cappuccino and decided to go with a cold Hazelnut Mocha, a hot chocolate and cheese toast {yes yes, indecisiveness is our second nature}.
Don’t go here expecting distressed furniture or hipster mason jars. This is literally as basic as it gets, but the coffee is made with love and expertise and it’s exactly this casual, no-care vibe that we dig.
The cold mocha made the cut in every respect with the right amount of cold, sugar and caffeine kick. The hot chocolate was happiness in every sip. But what really took the cake was the cheese toast.
It managed to not crumble under the weight of our expectations and made us realise that there’s indeed a lot of magic that can be created with a humble slice of bread and cheese.
Freakin Beans reminds us of our college days; holidays, summer crushes and wasted afternoons. So, if you, like us, are feeling stingy but not out of zest, make a visit here. Up on our list to try next: creamy tea, tandoori chicken and caramel cold coffee. We might even pack some nibbles for home.
