Fursat Se Cafe's Back With A Book Swap Meet-Up & A Bookmobile!

What Is It?

Fursat Se – A Cultural Cafe {yes, that artsy Shahpur Jat cafe you remember from yore} is making a comeback after two years, and this time around, they’re back as a collective for the community and by the community. While they’re looking for a space to operate out of, they’re also taking baby steps right now and we hear that a lot of interesting events are in the pipeline. One such event we’re super excited about is Khanabadosh Kitaabein: A Book Swap Meet-Up.

Here’s how it works: get the book{s} you’d like to swap with other people, get to North Campus, spot the ‘bookmobile’ run by the peeps at Fursat Se and interact & exchange books with like-minded individuals.

Books, a bookmobile and Fursat Se; it’s sounds like a perfect, cosy winter day!

Who Is It For?

If you had ever been to the Fursat Se Cafe back when it was open in Shahpur Jat, you’ll probably agree that we need more spaces like these in the city. Spaces that let people come together for everything from a theatrical performance to a writing workshop, spaces that believe in the community {Fursat Se followed the pay-as-you-like system, the take a book-leave a book norm and you could even order-in from other places at this cafe} and spaces that are simple but run with a whole lot of love and passion, Fursat Se was all of this and much, much more.

If you’re the kind of person who likes to support spaces and ventures like this one, and have books you could trade for other interesting reads and just generally love meeting new people, Fusrat Se’s Book Swap Meet-Up will be totally up your alley.

Why Should I Go For It?

For starters, there’s something called a bookmobile involved, which is basically the car that’ll be carrying all the good loot, and secondly, you can get a new book to read, can meet new people and just enjoy a great Sunday doing something different.

The bookmobile is likely to be parked near a chaiwallah in North Campus, so you can just grab a chai, discuss books, discover new authors and really, when was the last time you signed up for something so casual and feel-good? Not to forget that it’s Fursat Se’s first event in two years and you could be part of this collective’s mission to expand creative spaces.

Anything Else?

The Khanabadosh Kitabein event is where you can spend a Sunday with books, people who love books, and chai, fursat se. Plus, you’ll be coming back home with a new book and a new experience, so we don’t really see any reason why you shouldn’t drop by North Campus this weekend.
