Get Your Shopping Bags Out: There’s An Export Surplus Store In Lajpat Nagar & It’s Huge

We had gone to Lajpat Nagar with a different agenda but Export Hut called out to us with its massive boxes full of shoes and we just had to go in. Inside, we found racks after racks stuffed with kurtas, boho tops, dresses, baby stuff, sports bras, leggings, casual tees and towels. One floor below, there’s whole men’s wear section as well.

The big 25% off labels on every alternate rack make shopping here a rather sweet experience. The price tags aren’t insane to begin with {in keeping with the export surplus theme, obviously} but the after-sale price makes everything that much more exciting. Because there were a lot of options, we didn’t get around to exploring the men’s section. Next time, we’ll make a trip and fill you in.  

After a substantial amount of time spent browsing, we found a loosey goosey embroidered dress in bright blue for all of INR 500 which we had to buy. Other than that, we saw the kurtas that start at INR 550 and go up to 1,000 plus for brands we pass by in the malls {by that standard, it’s still a great deal}. Pants and can-sleep-in leggings begin at INR 650.

There are also sportswear in neon and jogging pants if you’re someone who’s new to the gym and aren’t keen on investing in a brand. Pick up a few pairs of sports bras and towels right here too. You’re now ready for that Zumba trial class you might/might not like.

Export Hut stocks up on bags as well but we honestly weren’t too impressed with the designs. If you happen to look past the ladies section, a whole floor with budget stuff for your old man/lazy half/angry young man awaits. We have serious regrets we don’t have insights to share from this zone – blame the well stocked ladies section. Hmphh.
